The device (1) has a spoiler unit comprising an extensible center part (3) that is arranged at a rear side of a motor car. The center part comprises two adjustable lateral wing ends (4, 5), which are adjustable about lateral axes to a steep position (I) in which the wing ends are upwardly pivoted with respect to the center part or to a flattened position in which the wing ends are turned toward the center part. Wing-polars are changeable by the respective wing ends that are pivoted to the center part with the steep or flattened position.
