The material has main layers (21-23) comprising different average thicknesses in top surfaces overlapping areas (24.1 - 24.3), where end edges (21.3 - 23.3) of the main layers are formed in the overlapping areas. The main layers cover surface portions at outer surfaces (21.1) in the end edges. Connection points (25.1- 25.3) are integrally connected to each other at the top surfaces in the overlapping regions. One of top surface overlapping areas comprises maximum overlap width that is smaller than 20 mm. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a sound-absorbing thermoplastic heavy layer semi-finished material.
