The method involves providing video image data as a sequence of temporal successive image data relative to rail tracks (4) to be traveled in a data memory (5). The video image data is received by a video camera system (3) during traveling of the tracks, where the video camera system is arranged at a rail vehicle (2). The video image data is stored in the data memory. A video is created from the stored video image data based on the tracks selected for preview by a video unit (9).
