Edge banding of a furniture panel (2), comprises: (a) smoothly processing a lateral plane of the panel edge (1) of the furniture panel, mechanically applying a strip-shaped thermoplastic film (3) on the surface of the panel edge, placing and tensioning the strip of the thermoplastic film on the surface of the panel edge using guide rollers (5) during unwinding; (b) heating the surface of the panel edge present on thermoplastic film by a heating system; and (c) gluing the edgings made of plastic, preferably polyvinyl chloride or acrylonitrile butadiene styrene.
