The side rail (2) has a height-adjustable longitudinal strut (3) having a crossbar, which receives end side in a cap (5) in a longitudinally displaceable manner. The crossbar has a central groove, which extends in the longitudinal direction of the crossbar at both sides of their large surfaces. The cap is arranged at the crossbar in a captive manner by using a locking unit, where the caps are arranged away from the crossbar to rotate on a mechanism for adjusting the height of the longitudinal strut.
