The actuating element (10) has touch-sensitive actuating surface (12), which is partially electrically insulated, and behind which an electrically active surface is extended. The electrically active surface triggers a function by the actuation of the actuating surface. The function is particularly adjustable. The actuating surface is a part of a molded part (26), which extends with non-planar and raised areas in haptically different manner against an operating surface and extends in third dimension. The haptically different areas carry on a guiding function for an operating organ such as finger. The actuating surface is channel-shaped and has equal cross section over the longitudinal extent.
