The method involves opening and closing a roof opening (5) by a flap (6) in a ceiling. An open gallery (8) is arranged in a room (1). An air jet (11) is used with a core beam through one of the openings for smoke extraction of the room and/or for the discharge temperature from the room. The air jet is aligned so that a portion of air (22) located above the gallery is induced through the air jet. The air jet is produced by a ventilator i.e. axial flow fan, exhibiting a nozzle, where the gallery is provided with an aperture in a space wall (2). An independent claim is also included for a system for removing smoke contained in a building space and/or for discharging temperature from a room.
