The regulating valve (10) has an interior (26) with a sealing surface (28), in which a valve outlet (24) is opened. A regulating element (30) is rotatably arranged in the interior of a valve body (20) around rotation axis (R). The regulating element has another sealing surface (32), which forms a sealing seat with former sealing surface to block a fluid path (40) between a valve inlet (22) and valve outlet. A regulating hollow space is formed between the two sealing surfaces, and extends in the circumferential direction on a section of the sealing surfaces with a changing flow cross-section. An independent claim is included for a method for producing a regulating valve.
