The method involves determining fundamental oscillation of correction voltages for phases of an inverter while determining load angle without determining phase currents for reproducing time dynamics of a control device (8) for carrying out deadtime compensation in the control device. Time delay of reference currents is carried out by a low pass filter or filter with low pass characteristics, where the inverter is connected with output terminals (20, 22) of an electric motor (6). The load angle is determined from the reference currents supplied to inputs of the electric motor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for deadtime compensation in an inverter (2) a storage medium for storing commands for executing a method for deadtime compensation in an inverter.
