The ironing aid has a frame (1) designed so that the tubular portion of the garment (7) is mounted or held, in a closed state. A displacement unit (3) moves the frame so that garments of different sizes are clamped and held by the frame. The frame is formed with two longitudinal sides (2) which extend parallel to each other in order to clamp the tubular portion of garment in stretched state, in closed state. The longitudinal sides are elastically braced against each other to clamp the tubular portion of garment in closed state, or the distance between the longitudinal sides is fixed. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an apparatus for ironing tubular portion of garment; and (2) method for ironing tubular portion of garment.
