The ring has a ring board (2) including a board side (3) that faces toward a taper roller bearing running surface (1) that is formed as a taper stump surface. The ring board is designed in such a manner that the board side includes a rectilinear inner stating section (P) in an axial section plane that consists of a bearing axis and a convex curved outer stating section (C) in a transition zone (T). Curvature radius (R) of the outer stating section is larger than board height (H) of the ring board over the taper roller bearing running surface.
