The input device (1) has a keyboard with a user operated key (3) for reading of the manual user input. An actuation area of the key is arranged on the surface of the keyboard, particularly same or different areas are covered by the keyboard and operator panel. The keyboard has an elevated or a deepened surface in the actuation area of the keys, where the elevated or a deepened surface is formed relative to the surface of the keyboard that is planar on the outside of the actuation area. An activation unit is provided in the keyboard to raise or lower the surface of the keyboard. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for reading the manual user input from an input device; and (2) a computer program product with program code.
