Additional axis cutting head (1) comprises a base body (2) for receiving cutting optics, a nozzle body (3) for applying a workpiece with a laser beam in a z-direction, a carriage for the translatory movement of the cutting optics and the nozzle body in a x-y-plane, and an overload protection device. The overload protection device has a predetermined breaking element (5), through which the nozzle body is removable and rigidly connected with the carriage. The breaking element comprises predetermined break points. The overload protection device comprises an additional shock absorbing device.
