The device (14) has a control unit (16) arranged in a motor car (10) for detecting an operating parameter of an electrical energy store (12). The control unit controls charging and/or discharging of the electric energy store based on a control parameter. A rating unit (24) is arranged outside the motor vehicle for determining the control parameter on the basis of the operating parameter. A communication unit (28) exchanges the operating parameters and the control parameters between the control unit and an evaluation unit.
