The method involves detecting position of an input unit in a hand of a user, and determining whether the position of the input unit corresponds to position in an area assigned to an operating element i.e. air cushion (2), of a massage device. The operating element is activated when the position of the input unit corresponds to the assigned position. A visual indication is outputted on a display when the input unit is arranged in a predefined plane in the area. Commands for the operating element are transmitted over a server, client and Internet. An independent claim is also included for a massage device.
