The device (10) has stampers (14) mounted at a frame (12), and a plug-in fuse applied with a plug-in force in a plug-in direction by the stampers such that the plug-in fuse is connected with an electrical connector. The stampers are supported at the frame over spring elements (16.1, 16.2) that are spaced from each other such that the plug-in force is defined by the spring elements. The plug-in fuse is mounted at a support for a fuse box. The support holds the fuse box in a defined relationship to the frame. The support provides access to the fuse box at side opposite to the frame. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a plug-in fuse in electrical interconnection with an electrical connector.
