The organic Rankine cycle (ORC)-plant has a turbine (25), a generator (17), a working medium pump (31), an evaporator (33) and a capacitor (27). The ORC-plant is connected with a waste heat source (39) by a closed heat exchanger circuit (37) and with a heat sink (47) by another heat exchanger circuit (43). The turbine is formed as a single-stage radial turbine with a rotor, multiple fixed vanes and a housing. The vanes form a diffuser. The vanes are straight or curved. The rotational peed of the working medium pump is controlled depending on the temperature and pressure of the working medium after the evaporator. An independent claim is included for a method for operating an organic Rankine cycle-plant.
