The protective device has a flexible sheet (2) which is movably mounted between a rest position and an operating position. The guide elements (4) are pivoted between a locking position and a release position. The guide elements are rigidly connected to the extension profile (3). The dimensionally-stable contour plate (7) is coupled to the extension profile in a release swivel direction to transmit torque to the extension profile, and is decoupled in an opposite swivel direction of the extension profile to transmit torque.
