The light emitting module (11) has first portion (18) which is provided with first polymeric material (17). A shining tape (12) is partially encapsulated into the first polymeric material. Second portion (20) is provided with second polymeric material (21). The first and second portions are formed separately and bonded directly and firmly, such that the shining tape is formed optically downstream to the second portion. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing the band-shaped light emitting module.
