The device determines a travel track and a driving maneuver of a vehicle for reaching a destination. The device determines a display location, which is located on the travel track between the vehicle and a location of the driving maneuver to be implemented. Numerical instructions (4a, 4b) of distance of a determined display location to the driving maneuver are displayed by a display e.g. LCD display, to a driver of the vehicle such that the numerical instructions are provided in a certain location, which is located in the distance ahead of the executed maneuvers. An independent claim is also included for a method for providing navigation information for a driver of a vehicle.
