The feed mechanism has a push rod (14), which partially has a circular cross-section and is movable in a feed direction. A clamping element (16) is provided with a hole (20), through which the push rod runs with its circular cross-section. The clamping element is convertible into a tilted position, in which a positive connection to the push rod is made in the feed direction. The hole of the clamping element has the shape of a cylinder with an elliptical, non-circular base surface and a top surface.
