The electrode device (30) has two electrically conductive support wires and an electrode wire which is partially coated with an emitter material, where the emitter material is fixed to the support wires and couples the former support wire electrically with the latter support wire. A reservoir-wire section is partially coated with the emitter material and has an end section and another end section spaced from the former end section. The latter end section is electrically coupled to the former end section with the former support wire, the latter support wire and the electrode wire. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing an electrode device; and (2) a method for manufacturing a discharge lamp.
