The coupling body (1) comprises a coupling disk section (2) arranged in the radial outer area of the coupling body, which has a friction cone (3) with a friction cone surface (4) for frictional start-up against a synchronizer ring, and a carrier section (5) arranged in the radially inner area of the coupling body. The coupling body is made of an annular base body (6), which is brought into the form of the coupling body by deformation, particularly by deep drawing. The annular base body is a sheet metal ring, which has an initial thickness (d-0) of maximum 3.5 millimeter.
