The piston pump has a pump housing (5) with multiple pump components, such as a pump piston (1), a piston return spring (16), a suction valve (4) and a pressure valve (7). An annular chamber limits the pump piston on the suction side and is designed as a caster chamber (19) for liquid. A conveyor chamber (9) limits the pump piston in the pressure side. The pump piston is received in a sealing ring (2), which takes the function of a guide strip (3). The sealing ring is received in a retainer (6) fixed in the pump housing, or between the guide strip and a valve seat body in the pump housing.
