The method involves operating one of component of a planetary gear against the housing or other component braking brake. A brake is controlled by a control unit along a braking torque of brake adjusting operation stroke. The increase over operation time for acquisition of slippage of brake, is mechanically-compensated by an operation stroke (s) of mechanical compensating adjustment unit. The adjustment operation of the adjustment device is activated to shorten the operation path, when slippage of the brake is detected by the control unit at maximum operation stroke (smax).
