The method comprises covering entire circumference of a surface of a closure portion of a container and/or of a lid with a solder material in the form of a solid or paste, achieving a change of atmosphere around the closure portion in an inert gas atmosphere or in a vacuum, and melting the solder material around the closure portion by supply of energy. The solder material forms a permanent and tight connection with a container and lid material. The method further comprises introducing a filler into the container. The container and/or the lid consists of a ceramic material. The method comprises covering entire circumference of a surface of a closure portion of a container and/or of a lid with a solder material in the form of a solid or paste, achieving a change of atmosphere around the closure portion in an inert gas atmosphere or in a vacuum, and melting the solder material around the closure portion by supply of energy. The solder material forms a permanent and tight connection with a container and lid material. The method further comprises introducing a filler into the container. The container and/or the lid consists of a ceramic material. The supply of energy is carried out by laser radiation. An independent claim is included for a device for gas-tight sealing containers with a lid.
