Method for non-contact analysis of particle sizes of granules in industrial process, involves detecting density of particles of granules from radiations, and determining size of particles by angle-dependent intensity distribution
The method involves surrounding of granules (3) by an ambient medium (2) such as air, by irradiating the granules with electromagnetic radiation. The electromagnetic radiation is provided as terahertz radiation or monochromatic radiation with adjusted wavelength for the ambient medium. A density of particles of the granules is detected from radiations scattered at different angles so as to detect angle-dependent intensity distribution of the scattered radiations. The size of the particles is determined by the angle-dependent intensity distribution. An independent claim is also included for a measurement apparatus.
