The rail (1) has a sliding surface formed in chain sliding direction. The sliding surface has segmentation region in which running grooves are formed. The grooves are V-shaped and extended at a transverse edge region of the sliding surface from a center line. The sliding surface pointing towards the edges of the grooves has a curvature or a phase. A sliding element (2) is provided for carrying a support element (5). The support element is formed from glass fiber reinforced plastic. The support element includes a cavity with an elastomer filling.
