The high pressure seal arrangement has a cylindrical housing (1) that is screwed in a process terminal (2) and is provided with a groove (3) for accommodating an O-ring (4) and a supporting ring (5) with a different elasticity. The groove is formed with a chamfer (6). A tapered gap is formed by the process terminal and is sealed with the O-ring and the supporting ring. The pitch angle of the chamfer is formed in range of 8-30[deg] . The housing is made of metal such as stainless steel. An independent claim is included for a proximity switch.
