The chain has tabs (1) articulated with one another by cradle thrust piece pairs (5, 6) that comprise two cradle thrust pieces (8, 9). Setting angles are provided between the cradle thrust pieces to enable pivoting of the thrust pieces relative to each other in opposing directions. The setting angles are reduced to straight run or zero by rotation of one of the thrust pieces relative to the tabs. An intermediate element is introduced between the thrust pieces and integrally connected with the thrust pieces. The intermediate element is clamped in a groove in a longitudinal direction. The intermediate element is designed as an O-ring, a radially loaded spiral spring or a corrugated spring.
