The method (300) involves determining (302) a position of a light source with respect to a vehicle and light intensity of the light source using an optical sensor of the vehicle. An activation signal for darkening of a portion of a disk is output (304) in dependence on the position of the light source and the light intensity of the light source. A sitting position of occupants of the vehicle is determined. The activation signal is output if the portion of the disk is arranged in an optical path between the light source and the sitting position.
