The method involves determining two-wheeler driving state variables with a sensor. A signal is generated to request or conduct a safety measure, if the driving state parameters on an accident or dangerous situation are closed, such that the hazardous situation of collision, sliding and/or loss of vehicle control are recognized. The bicycle is equipped with an antilock braking system. The sensor on the wheel rotational speeds and two-wheel acceleration are detected. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a regulation or control unit; (2) an accident detection system for two-wheeler; and (3) a two-wheeler such as motorcycle.
