The rubber element is provided in the fitted state to perform a relative movement to a partner element, where a portion of the outer- and inner side of the rubber element interacts with the partner element in a frictional contact. A contact area of the rubber element is provided with a coating (12) that is applied by a plasma process, and has a reduced friction coefficient against the rubber material. The coating is a diamond like carbon coating. A roll bellows of an air spring is provided in the rubber element.
