The method involves providing a pressure sensor (21) which is heatable with an integrated electric heating element, in which the pressure sensor is operated in a heating mode or in a measuring mode. At the beginning of both the heating operation and measuring operation, the heating element is activated for the duration of a heating period and is disabled after the heating period. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a pressure sensor; and (2) an exhaust gas aftertreatment device.
