Fuel injection system for internal combustion engine of motor car, has controllable release valve connecting fuel high pressure storage with pressure reservoir in releasing position, and reservoir connected to low pressure region
The system (10) has a low pressure region (19) and a high-pressure region (29) provided with a high-pressure fuel storage (26). A pressure reservoir (36) is connected to the high-pressure fuel storage through a controllable release valve (34) in a releasing position. The reservoir is connected to the low pressure region through a valve unit (40). The high pressure fuel storage comprises minimum operating pressure that corresponds to border accumulator pressure in the pressure reservoir. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a fuel injection system.
