A die (140) of a die holder is flexibly mounted against the die-side frame element in an assembly direction (D) of a joining element (300). The die is disengaged with respect to the die-side frame element, such that remaining joining impulse is transmitted partially or with a time lag on the die-side frame element, during the driving of the joining element received by the die.
