The method involves activating preconfigured functionality of electrical device (10) and transmitting authentication information (100) of transmission device (20) to electrical device over communication channel (15) through data interface (21). The communication channel between both devices is established automatically, by actuation of actuating element structure (12) of electrical device. The electric device is configured such that pre-configured functionality is activated depending on transmission of authentication information over the communication channel. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) system for simplified commissioning of electrical appliance; and (2) computer program product for simplified commissioning of electrical appliance.
