The clamping fixture (1) has two parallel-spaced clamping jaws (11,12) which are moved between rest position and clamping position. The recesses (111,121) are formed in mutually opposing inner sides of clamping jaws, corresponding to external cross-sectional shape of motor car pillar. A guide arbor (122) in clamping jaw is engaged with fixing hole in pillar trim. An independent claim is included for a method for mounting pillar trim to motor car pillar.
