Multi-layer composite material, preferably a wound dressing, comprises at least two layers of fine fiber spun-bonded fabric, in which two nonwoven layers are selectively and/or linearly connected to one another, such that pockets between the two fabric layers are formed between the joints. The super-absorbents (3) are introduced into the pockets in powder form. An independent claim is also included for producing the composite material comprising trickling superabsorbent powders on a lower layer of a first fine fiber spun-bonded fabric, placing a top layer of a second fine fiber spun-bonded fabric, and performing a point and/or line-shaped joining, preferably welding, of the two non-woven layers by calendering, such that the weld joints are formed between pockets between the two nonwoven layers, in which the superabsorbent is in a powder form.
