The method involves mixing liquid manure (1) with a precipitating agent before introduction of the liquid manure into a joggle container (5). The precipitating agent of the liquid manure is supplied in the joggle container before introduction of the liquid manure into the joggle container. Precipitation floating bodies already contained and/or prior to precipitation process or suspended in the precipitation process is settled and separated as thick phase (6). The settled and separated thick phase is separately withdrawn from a thin phase forming as clear zone (7). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for separating thick phase from a thin phase in a floating body containing liquid (2) a odor treatment substance (3) a method for manufacturing a odor treatment substance.
