The deflector has a wind deflector frame (10) retained in a shaft (18) and movable between stowing away and protective positions. A lid (28) is held at the deflector frame and projects from the deflector frame in the stowing away position. The shaft is partially covered by the lid in the stowing away position. The lid is movable between mounting and covering positions relative to the deflector frame. An operating element moves the lid from the mounting position into the covering position during movement of the deflector frame from the protective position into the stowing away position.
