The splinter shield has a support structure (1), a splinter trapping tissue (2) and a padded body (3), where the support structure forms a mold part matched on an installation position. The support structure, the splinter trapping tissue and the padded body are combined to an installation element. The splinter trapping tissue is a Kevlar (RTM: Para-aramid synthetic fiber)- or aramide fiber tissue. The splinter trapping fabric is adhered to the support structure. The support structure is formed as sheet metal- or aluminum-mold part.
