The ashtray (1) has an ash box (4) arranged in a swivel box (5). The ash box is pivoted with the swivel box by a first push pull mechanism (2). A second push pull mechanism (6) is pivoted into open position. A trained guiding plate (7) is formed with a receiving opening and moved from non-use position (III) into use position without the swivel box is pivoted into the close position (I). The guiding plate is arranged over the swivel box in the use position such that articles e.g. mobile telephone and pen, are accommodated in the swivel box receiving opening of the guiding plate.
