The method involves clamping an actual mass adjusting jig (8) in which an assembly is located in an unjoined state in two spaced-apart clamping points. A target mass force-displacement curve is determined from a known slope of a force-displacement characteristic of the clamping points of the unjoined assembly and the joined assembly. A setpoint actuating measure for the clamping point of the unjoined assembly is determined from an intersection point of curve of the clamping point of the unjoined and joined assemblies. An independent claim is included for an arrangement for determining a setpoint actuating measure and/or for assembling an assembly.
