The method involves injecting electric current in high-voltage network, in which the electric current includes specific current (I), and determining the current temperature (T) of the high-voltage network. The first product (A1) is determined from the difference between determined actual temperature of high-voltage network and nominal temperature (T-Nom) of high-voltage network. The current intensity of electrical current is limited in the time duration (t1), if the first product reaches a predetermined value. An independent claim is included for a high-voltage power system for a motor vehicle.
