A location-based security system that spans multiple recipients. Each of the receivers determines arrival times of received time-varying signals. The system also includes a server in communication with the receivers and a mobile device. The server receives the arrival times from the receivers and arrival times of the time-varying signals determined by the mobile device. The server determines a location of the mobile device based on the arrival times. The server can then authorize the mobile device to perform secure communication over the secure communication network if it is determined based on the arrival times received from the receivers that the location of the mobile device is in a defined authorized communication area.
