The method involves considering a temperature behavior of an output stage (707). A temperature of corresponding output stage branches is considered during calculation of PWM signals (704) for controlling the individual output stage branches. The PWM signals corresponding to reference-voltages (701, 702) of the branches are corrected based on the temperature by allocation of PWM correction corresponding to a voltage drop at an inner resistance i.e. equivalent loss resistance, of the corresponding output stage branches based on an instantaneous phase current of the corresponding branches.
