The arrangement (1) has an interface (7) for connecting an electronic control unit (ECU) (2) with the arrangement. The ECU is switchable between a bus input (5) and a bus output (6) by the interface. Another bus input (8) and another bus output (9) connect Controller Area Network (CAN) buses (3) to the arrangement in a ring topology such that the outputs are indirectly connected with the respective inputs via the buses. The buses in the arrangement are separable for receipt of a line topology. The arrangement is bus-terminatingly configured at one of the inputs or the outputs. An independent claim is also included for a system for functional testing of bus subscribers at a bus in a simulation environment.
