Preparing waterproofing membrane or textile polymeric waterproofing membrane made of several plastic layers, is claimed. The waterproofing membranes are placed on one another in an overlapping manner, and welded together in overlapping region. The textile polymeric waterproofing membrane respectively exhibit two outer fleece layers and a middle waterproofing layer comprising a swelling agent. The stacked fleece layers of the two adjacent textile polymeric waterproofing membranes are melted with its complete layer thickness in the overlapping region. Preparing waterproofing membrane or textile polymeric waterproofing membrane made of several plastic layers, is claimed. The waterproofing membranes are placed on one another in an overlapping manner, and welded together in overlapping region. The textile polymeric waterproofing membrane respectively exhibit two outer fleece layers and a middle waterproofing layer comprising a swelling agent. The stacked fleece layers of the two adjacent textile polymeric waterproofing membranes are melted with its complete layer thickness in the overlapping region. The welded seam is produced by connecting the overlapping regions of the two waterproofing membranes with each other in the molten state. An independent claim is also included for a waterproofing membrane made of several plastic layers, comprising carrier- and outer layers made of plastic and a middle waterproofing layer which comprises the swelling agent, where the waterproofing membranes are arranged adjacent to each other, and adjacent waterproofing membranes partially overlap with each other.
