The method involves providing two clocks in an electronic measuring system (1), where a transmitting signal (S-tx) are generated by a transmit pulse generator (18) periodically pulsed with a pulse repetition frequency (f-prf) as a first clock. A correlation signal (S-korr) is generated by a strobe pulse generator (19) periodically pulsed with a sampling frequency (f-sampl) as a second clock. The transmission signal is transformed by the correlation signal generated with the sampling frequency in a time-expanded intermediate-frequency signal (S-zf) with an intermediate frequency (f-zf).
